Malabar Social Service Society (MASSS), in collaboration with USHA International, organized a two-day (29th – 30th April 2026) Local Resource Person (LRP) Training Programme at Sreepuram Training Centre, Kannur, as part of the USHA Silai School Project.

The LRP Training Programme was designed to develop a team of Local Resource Persons (LRPs) who will serve as mentors, trainers, and field facilitators for the Silai School network. The programme focused on strengthening participants’ technical knowledge, leadership qualities, communication skills, training methodologies, community mobilization, and mentoring capabilities. The trained LRPs will play a key role in supporting Silai School teachers, ensuring quality training delivery, and expanding the project’s reach across local communities.

The sessions were led by Mr. Vadivelan Perumal, Deputy Manager, USHA International, who facilitated practical and interactive learning sessions. Selected USHA Silai School teachers from Kannur and Kasaragod districts actively participated in the programme, gaining valuable knowledge and hands-on experience to enhance their effectiveness as Local Resource Persons. The training programme was coordinated by Shanly Thomas, Project Officer of MASSS.
